In October 1990, Wilhite & Wall left Arkansas to host mornings at WFMB/ Springfield, IL for a short time, leaving in March of 1991 for a gig at WIVK/ Knoxville, TN.

While in Knoxville, Wilhite & Wall consistently remained the highest-rated morning show in the country. The Country Music Association named them "Medium Market Personalities of the Year in 1992. "

In 1996 Wilhite & Wall became the first country radio personalities to broadcast their show live from Russia. The two-day broadcast was based in Obninsk, near Moscow. Obninsk is a sister city of Oak Ridge, TN.
